🦠 Tummy Health Facts: Celebrating National Cat & Dog Gut Health Awareness Day!

Sep 21, 2026

imageDear #KheayeFam community,

Happy September 21st! Today is National Cat & Dog Gut Health Awareness Day. 🐾✨

Whether caring for our dogs through The Barking Bureau or our feline crew at The CATeur Chronicles, one thing remains constant: true advocacy starts with responsible, science-backed care in our daily routines.

Did you know that over 70% of a pet’s immune system is housed right in their gut microbiome? Because there is so much conflicting advice online regarding pet nutrition, I wanted to share two evidence-backed facts every fur parent should know:

1. Mixed Feeding Works: Combining wet and dry food is a great way to offer the hydration benefits of wet food (especially important for cats!) along with the convenience of quality kibble. Just remember to manage total daily calories!

2. Schedules Beat Free-Feeding: Serving 2–3 structured meals a day keeps digestive rhythms steady and helps you spot changes in appetite right away.

Dispelling online myths with factual information is a key pillar of our community work. Every informative post we share helps pet parents make better choices, keeping animals healthy, happy, and out of emergency clinics.

Thank you for supporting my full-time journey as an author, creator, and animal welfare advocate. Your continued support brings us closer to building a permanent sanctuary for strays in need!

✨ Be Kind. Be You. Always.

Warmly,

Karen Kheaye 🐾📚
