Won't you guess it! It did rain cats and dogs this morning! Whew, such thunder!
Once the Sun came out, I took the chance to snap this pic. It got me thinking that perhaps I should invest in a scanner, likely sometime in the near future.
The good news? I paid more attention to the facial proportions this time, as promised from my Lilia Vanrouge's Rockstar (Pop-shirt) drawing. The funny news? This took me so long! Oh my goodness, me! I thought this would take me about 3 hours from start to finish, perhaps a bit more. In truth, it was about double that time. This seems to be a common theme with my latest drawings... Maybe it's always been so. Perhaps I need to assume a need to recalculate by doubling the time expectations? I think I should try that and see how it goes. What do you think?
But it wasn't just the time; the body of an artist can also only do so much: by the last two hours, my vision was getting blurry! A common happening with this craft, something that I remember dealing with even as a child when I had just begun drawing for hours at a time: It's as if the "camera lens focus" of your eyes messes up, and it can no longer see things clearly. I imagine it's the visual exhaustion...

Ah-ha! It's called eye strain: "which occurs when the eye muscles get fatigued from prolonged, close-up focus." That. That's what happened. By the time I was done with this bad boy last night, I was out of it enough, I even wrote the wrong date on it. Hahahaha! Anyhow~
Finally, I wasn't sure if I preferred the thicker outline I placed on it at the end or not. I'm still on the fence about that. But you know what? I still think it turned out pretty impressive. Today, now that my eyes can actually see it better, I have a hard time believing I made this. Pretty neat, yeah? :D I was so focused on the smaller details, I sorta missed the bigger picture. Ironically.
Anyhow! I shall go on my merry way and find something else to draw. And probably figure out a new signature, perhaps sometime soon. In the meantime, I wish you a peaceful and most wonderful rest of your day.
