AMBER — my first album. Out September 18th.
I don't really know how to make this sound small, so I'm not gonna try.
Eleven tracks. My actual voice, start to finish, no version of me hiding behind someone else's sound. Some of these songs came out of nights where I genuinely didn't think I had anything worth saying. Some came out of the best days I've had all year. A couple of them I almost didn't finish because they were too close to true.
There's a song on here about being scared of being seen and a song about someone actually seeing me anyway. There's one about a friendship that started as just two kids messing around and turned into something I don't have a smaller word for than "brother." There's one that's just about the rooms I actually live in — not metaphor, just the real place that's mine.
The title is AMBER because that's the color the studio turns into around 7pm when the sun hits it right, and that light is the closest thing I've got to a feeling of being safe. Warm. Home. Everything on this album got made sitting inside that light, one way or another.
This isn't a mixtape or a one-off single. This is the real thing — the whole arc, front to back, meant to be heard in order at least once before you go picking favorites. I've been working on it for months with my dad, and it's the most me anything has ever been.
