The Sweet Pea Tunnel in the Potager

It's been a frantic start to Spring with it being so warm then cold, then warm again and now it's turned cold again. I was able to find some good quality canes at a good price from our local garden centre and finished off the structure of the walkway. I thought about how to train the plants up them and really didn't like the thought of using plastic netting, it's such a horrible stuff, gets tangled, is bad for the environment and easy for birds to get caught up in so I found some netting made from garden twine, more expensive but I'm hoping it will last a couple of seasons. In a few weeks, and with some rain, plenty of food we will have a Sweet Pea tunnel full of scent and colour. I've also put in a few other annual climbers which will extend the season and add some other interest too :-)
