My Top 5 Rock albums of 2025. 🔥
This is my own list, just to be clear. You guys had your chance to vote on the Junkyard Awards 2025 that helped us announce the Junkyard’s best albums of the year.
1.Ghost - Skeleta
Why: Well, before 2025 I was just a casual Ghost fan. I followed their work from the very beginning. I listened to the albums, wrote a bit as well, but I never really went deep. Then Skeleta came and everything was turned “Upaide down”. And I went in while the magma gate gate was opened, never looking back… Maybe it’s not the best album of their career, but it was so good that I simply can’t help but put it in first place. Plus, if we look at my streaming numbers…

2.Crazy Lixx - Thrill Of The Bite
Why: Before Ghost released the album in May, Crazy Lixx and their fantastic Thrill Of The Bite were my favorites for this list. This record is flawless with all its horror 80s themes and music without mistakes. Crazy Lixx are the best at what they do. Better even than the original bands from the 80s who nowadays are only embarrassing themselves with new music.

3.H.E.A.T - Welcome To The Future
Why: Everything I said about Crazy Lixx also applies to H.E.A.T. And yet another Swedish band in the line. The difference between them and the previous ones is that they are slightly more polished, but Welcome To The Future is so good that it even has songs that could be placed on Skeleta itself.

4.Bullets And Octane - Demos and B-Sides, Sweet Lil Singalongs 1999-20??
Why: I don’t know what to tell you about this band. The compilation Sweet Lil Songs from the beginning of the year was spinning non stop on my wavelengths. Add to that 4 fantastic singles that Gene Louis and the crew released this year, and every single one of them is fucking good enough to be Top 1 on any list. Bullete and Octane are one of a kind band that deserves to be on everybody’s playlist all the time!

5.Creeper - Sanguivore II
Why: Creeper is an exception. Creeper is a band that flirts with styles and changes them from album to album. On Sanguivore II they decided to thematically portray an 80s band that is on tour, but is chased by the Mistress of Death who wants to destroy and punish them with her whip. Sleaze goth with hints of heavier pleasures. Enough for this top 5 list.
