Highlights

I forgot about the March newsletter, so if you think you missed it, there wasn’t one. It was a busy month for me, with a lot of different things keeping my attention. I didn’t get much writing done in March. I am hoping that changes in April!

April is always a busy month for me as well. This year is very special, though, because it is the second time in my entire life (and my grandmother’s as well) that Easter lands on my birthday. I also shared my birthday with my grandma as well, so it’s always a little bittersweet already. I have my own traditions I do on that day, so that will be my busiest day of the month. We’re doing family celebrations the day before, so I will be busy that whole weekend.

1. Underneath Rewrites

Rewrite cycle

I have gone through two drafts of this book already, and this will be the third draft of the novel. Certain sections need to be reworked entirely, so it will be a bit of a challenge.

Beta readers

Once this draft is finished, it will be ready for beta readers. I will be organizing this throughout the month, so if you are interested, feel free to shoot a message, and we can work something out.

2. A Glimpse Between

The idea

I’ve mentioned doing a set of short stories taking place during the events of the book “The Things that Dwell Between,” released in February. These are all things that happened in the background of the realm.

The Plan

I plan on releasing twelve stories total in this collection. There will be three parts focused on. Fyre Kingdom, Earth Kingdom, and the light and dark lands will be the main focus of the stories. I will be releasing two stories a month for the next six months, leading to the release of the second Novel in the series in September.

Social spotlights

Places I will be most active in my updates through April

Substack

Through the month I will be active and posting the first two short stories that follow the rulers of the realm in the period between the end of the first set of stories, and the end of the first book. (Both can be found on my substack to read.)

Tik tok

I will be promoting the short stories and possibly giving daily updates on progress through the month.

Youtube

I have made previous attempts to do daily videos during writing challenges, but the last few years have been harder to maintain. I am hoping that I will be able to record short videos of my progress through the month. These videos have gotten views in the past, and hope they continue to gain traction.
