Jumping Off the Healing Wheel

How to Feel Good Now

One of the traps of the mind is presenting a homogenised concept of what it means to know oneself and be well. This notion is often tied to perfection and the idea that wellness is synonymous with feeling good.

As a result, we struggle to understand that we can feel bad and still be well. The mind's concept of success is intricately linked to perpetual healing cycles, convincing us that we are never whole until we achieve the mind’s idealised version of ourselves. However, even when we reach one goal, there’s always something else to chase—another benchmark, another standard to meet—leading to an endless pursuit of wholeness.

This pursuit is often mistaken for evolution, but it is not. Thinking and evolving are not the same. When we step back and become aware of how the mind conceptualises spirituality, willpower, life force, intuition, pleasure, inspiration, or even a new relationship with fear—knowing fear as intuition in its infancy—we begin to connect with the natural world, the world that truly exists beyond the confines of our thoughts.

Instead of crashing into the mental barriers that cause suffering, we can recognise that the mind has nothing to do with our survival. Our body takes care of that. By being present with this truth, hidden potentials and experiences unfold, revealing what we can truly feel, become, and offer to the world. So don’t run away from your life, no matter what it presents. By showing up for whatever comes your way—whether good, bad, or ugly—you become more of yourself, which is ultimately a gift to the world.

Let go of who you think you are, and just be.

Some Thoughts for Reflection

What do you mean by "the mind's concept of success is intricately linked to perpetual healing cycles"?

This means that the mind often convinces us that we are never truly whole or well, leading us to continually seek healing or self-improvement. It keeps us in a loop of feeling incomplete until we meet certain mental standards, which are often unrealistic or ever-changing.

How is thinking different from evolving?

Thinking is a mental process often focused on achieving goals or solving problems, whereas evolving is a deeper, more organic process of growth and transformation that isn't driven by mental constructs. Evolution is about adapting and becoming more in tune with our true selves, rather than constantly striving for an ideal.

What do you mean by "fear as intuition in its infancy"?

This suggests that fear, when understood correctly, can be seen as a form of intuition that hasn't fully matured. It can guide us if we learn to interpret it not as something to avoid but as a signal from our deeper instincts

Why is it important to let go of who we think we are?

Letting go of who we think we are—our mental constructs about ourselves—allows us to connect with our true nature. It frees us from the limitations of self-imposed identities and expectations, enabling us to live more authentically and fully.

How can showing up for life’s challenges be a gift to the world?

By facing life’s challenges head-on and growing through them, we become more of our true selves. This authentic self-expression has a ripple effect, positively impacting others and contributing to the world in meaningful ways. When we define our own understanding of success, being ourselves is a reward that feigns to comparison.

Happy Contemplation
