I spent my whole life as a doctor. When I retired, I went back to the piano, and to the boleros I grew up with.
Today I record them in a studio in Bogotá, with my son and a group of singers I admire deeply. Each session of Encuentros brings together a studio, musicians, a sound engineer and a small film crew. A full season of ten songs costs around $4,200 to record and film, roughly $420 per song.
Most of what we play are versions of songs we all love, so the YouTube ad revenue goes to the original songwriters, as it should. What keeps us recording is you.
