I know it's been a virtual eternity (in internet time, anyway) since I checked in. Here's the updates!
We moved to California at the end of last year. We had been really missing socializing and family in our age range, so we moved closer to Sacramento. It has been such a blessing! We needed this so badly, and we didn't even realize how much until we got down here. I miss my Mama (who still lives in the Reno area), but it was a necessary exchange.
I still need work on my teeth, but it's going to have to wait until we get more settled. We have Medi-Cal, but we're still trying to get primary care that's not 100 miles away! Gotta love when the agents setting up your insurance have NO idea how big your state is!
I'm still working on my third novel (and its direct sequel). I'm getting a bunch of AI spam emails about my currently released books. How do I know it's AI? They are almost word-for-word identical emails coming from different people, and all of the accolades are things that can be scraped from the descriptions of the books! I keep them so I can reference them (and because my fragile ego still likes the accolades lol); there's about 15 in my inbox right now. I do wish they were more than just sales pitches for people who want me to buy their AI artwork (which I will never do, on principle), but it's whatever.
We're settling into our new lives down here, and I'm slowly getting back to my writing. I miss it desperately, and whenever I have the energy to do any writing, I try to capitalize on it. I hope to have at least High Priestess released this year, if not both of them.
