If you’ve heard my latest cover of ABBA’s "Money, Money, Money," you already know the theme of the week! Independent music production comes with unpredictable waters, and after looking closely at my studio's numbers, it's time to make a necessary business pivot.
For over 10 years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into arranging and producing virtual pipe organ covers for this community and for some time now, I have offered these custom commissions at US$75 per minute of finished music, plus supplementary sheet music. However, this rate deeply undervalues the specialized technical labour, MIDI orchestration, registration planning, and software maintenance required to make a digital pipe organ arrangement sound truly majestic.
To build a sustainable future for my music, I am rolling out a phased pricing update:
- Phase 1 (January 1, 2027): Base commission rates will move to US$150 per minute of music.
- Phase 2 (2028 and beyond): Base rates will step up to US$300 per minute of music to fully align with professional industry standards.
The Legacy Grace Period (Book Now for 2026 Rates)
My current US$75/minute rate is officially locked in for the remainder of 2026. Any commission formally booked and deposited before December 31, 2026, will be honoured at the legacy rate, regardless of when it is scheduled to be completed.
🌟 A Note on Major Studio Support & Private Patronage
Beyond regular commissions and my standard Buy Me a Coffee memberships, I want to address something that has kept the studio breathing behind the scenes. For several months, up until last month, a private patron has been incredibly generous, supporting my work with a consistent US$1,000 per month, until they had to stop after their previous donation last month due to personal reasons.
This level of support goes far beyond my initial membership tiers and has been a massive lifeline for managing studio software overhead, hardware requirements, and project planning.
I am actively looking for additional high-tier patrons who may be in a position to contribute larger, consistent amounts to support my music outside standard platforms.
