CapitalOne Shopping's New $40-$200 Promo!

If you have a desktop, laptop, or iPhone, CapitalOne Shopping is running a great new promotion! Sign up, install the extension, and spend $40 through their extension. Once you do, you'll trigger their signup bonus, which gets you $40 that you can redeem for a variety of gift cards! During signup, they'll give you an extra $10 if you download the extension on your other device as well (if you signed up on your PC, you'll get $10 for also activating the extension on your iPhone, and vice versa). I triggered my bonus by purchasing a $10 gift card from giftcards[dot]com and activating the cashback in the CapitalOne extension.
Once triggered, it takes about a week to receive your bonus.

Monzo Lowers Bonuses to $10!

Monzo, the app that dominated Referral World the past few days, lowered their instant bonuses from $20 down to $10. The terms remain the same: sign up, deposit, and spend $10 anywhere Google/Apple Pay is accepted to trigger the instant bonus. $10 instant referral bonuses, as well.

Shopkick Lowers Bonuses from $10 to $2

Wow, two Shopkick updates in one day! Shopkick lowered the current promo they're running from $10 (2,500 kicks) to $2 (500 kicks). They also lowered the kick earn requirement back down to 10 kicks (they were requiring 30 kicks earlier today to trigger the bonuses).

Shopkick took Referral World by storm the other day by increasing their signup and referral bonuses from $4 instant bonuses (1,000 kicks) to $10 instant bonuses (2,500 kicks). Even better, they have been counting video clip-watching as one of the methods to trigger the bonuses (even though they didn't change their promo terms to reflect this).
Up until last night/this morning, the requirement was earning 10 kicks, which was easily earned for most by watching 10 applicable video clips (these clips range from 15-30 seconds each and have a kick reward displayed on them, i.e. "1 kick" or "3 kicks"). This is now a 30-kick requirement, which means watching approximately 30 applicable video clips.
I highly recommend taking quizzes and any other options you find on their "Discover" page to earn clicks. A few people reached out to me yesterday who were having trouble triggering the bonuses. Most of those people followed up with me to let me know they earned their bonus by watching more clips and/or taking the mini-quizzes and whatnot.
Another issue some - including myself - ran into is that they are only able to redeem a few gift cards before getting an error in the app. There doesn't seem to be a single rhyme or reason for it, but the best I've gathered so far is that Shopkick expects users to do more than just watch video clips. They want people to go into their nearby stores and scan qualifying items, scan receipts, etc. I HIGHLY recommend doing this before you even try to cash out the first time, hoping you don't run into this issue. If you do end up running into this issue and have tried these steps, I recommend reaching out to Shopkick support for assistance. Ibotta Lowers Referral Bonuses from $10 to $5!

Ibotta, a longtime staple in Referral World, lowered their referral bonuses. Back when I signed up in 2020, Ibotta offered $10 signup and referral bonuses. A year ago - or longer - they lowered the signup bonuses to $5 but kept the referral bonuses at $10. Perhaps it's to recoup the extra money they doled out a couple of weeks ago for the "Free Thanksgiving Dinner & Fixins" and the "Free Thanksgiving Dinner for Life" promotions.

Watch out for scammers!
Some of the best bonus opportunities have hit Referral World in the past few weeks. Apps like Monzo, where you get $20 instant signup (and referral) bonuses when you sign up and spend $10 anywhere Apple Pay/Google Pay is accepted (gas stations, grocery stores, etc.). Add to this that the holidays are here, and scammers are starting to come out of the woodwork. I've seen several posts today where Rena Snyder and other alleged serial scammers were called out for promising to sign up under a referrer, getting $10 advanced to them to trigger the bonus, and then taking off with the $10. One referrer scammed by Rena today said: "She ran off with the $10 deposit... When she could of gotten $20 🥴" But for these serial scammers, they're not just scamming one person out of $10. They're making bank by scamming as many people as they're able to while they're able to get away with it.
If you're referring Monzo, Webull, Acorns, or any other apps where money is exchanging hands between you and the people you're referring to or getting referred by, please be on guard so that you don't get ripped off by scammers.
If you're on Facebook, be sure to search Scammers on Blast and Scammers on Blast - Backup Group to see if the person you're working with has been posted there for scamming others. And trust your gut instincts! If something doesn't feel right, walk away from the signup/referral. This goes both ways, whether you're signing up for an app or referring it. If you're signing up for an app, ask for previous pay proof and check the referrer's profile/reputation (if possible).

Another app I signed up for last night is called Future. This one offers $15 bonuses when you sign up, connect your bank, fund your Future account, and make a $50+ purchase. I was told by RWN supporter, Mary G., that Future has greatly improved from prior promotions since they now allow instant funding from Cash App, GPay, and Venmo and are offering a $5 additional bonus for instant funding for the debit card right now.
I completed these steps last night, and I got a 500-point ($5) instant bonus. I'm still waiting on the remaining bonus, as my $50 purchase is still pending. I inquired how long the rest of the $15-$20 typically takes to receive and will provide an update once I know. $15 referral bonuses, as well.
(MORE) Bonuses are Coming To Town!
If you read my article from last week's RWN, "The Bonuses are Back in Town!" you know how Referral World had quite a dry spell regarding new apps and bonuses, along with existing bonuses and apps ending.
This past month or so has introduced a slew of new apps and promotions at such a rate that it's proven difficult for me to sign up for them in time to get the word out to everyone. Just last night, I signed up for both Future and Monzo. In the past few weeks, I've signed up for Surprise, Checkmate, Carrot, Benjamin (code u2RSU3To97), LootUp, Modak, and Plynk. As I write this, there were even more I'd hoped to sign up for before publishing this RWN edition, but I wanted to get this issue out while people are still awake!
I will add the info for these new apps as I sign up, so be on the lookout!

Carrot Confusion, Bugs!

I reported on the new app, and its $5 + Bonus $50 Promo a few days ago. It was nearly identical to Checkmate, who ran the same promo the week before. However, while the Carrot bonuses were assumed to be instant - like Chekmate's bonuses were - I noticed I had a handful of people who signed up, but we never received our bonuses.
I contacted Carrot support, who informed me there was a bug where I was supposed to have received one of the referral bonuses but hadn't yet. Additionally, I found out that Carrot requires that you activate both the iPhone Safari extension and the desktop Chrome extension to trigger the bonuses.
I also noticed a couple of other bugs relating to trying to sign in on Chrome, where it was thinking I was trying to sign up instead of signing in, telling me I already had an account. I could successfully log in on the deskop version using my phone number instead of trying to log in with Google.
As I write this article, I still haven't received my signup bonus or the referral bonuses I'm owed, but support has been quick to respond to my emails today, so I'm hopeful that this will be resolved. I'll update you once I find out the specifics on how quickly they're supposed to pay out (whether it's actually supposed to be instant or if it takes a day or longer).
