⚠️10/4 Updates on issues/limitations with ROI and 1v1me

Dec 31, 2023

Roi is paying out! Referrers who have been including their unique code along with their Roy referral link have been getting credited for their referrals, and Roi has been paying out the $150 when people successfully refer 10.

1v1me never followed up with members about reactivating their referral links, and they implemented various changes including a $10 stake requirement to use earned referral bonuses (it was previously $1).

Happy Wednesday! On Monday, two new apps hit Referral World: Roi and 1v1me.

Roi:

Yesterday morning, it came to light that both apps had major problems: Roi hadn't been properly tracking bonuses at all, and weren't applying earned signups to the people who referred them. I emailed Roi yesterday. Still no word back on whether they'll be crediting us with any/all existing referrals we acquired.

Roi did update their app to now include a unique referral code. If you already have Roi, you'll need to grab the latest update from the App store. Anybody signing up through your referral link will also need to enter this code for the referral to track properly. Be sure to include this code as you refer the app.

1v1me:

Yesterday morning, 1v1me disabled people's referral codes, telling us that we "reached our max limit" regardless of the number of referrals people earned (people who hadn't even referred anybody found their codes disabled, as well). 1v1me also told members we need to reach out to them and fill out an online application, and they would make a decision on a case-by-case basis as to whether they will reactivate our codes and allow us to refer again. As the day progressed, 1v1me made app changes as well, requiring users to stake $10 to be able to apply their earned $10 signup/referral bonuses. Before this change, we are only required to stake $1 to use our earned bonuses.

I personally filled out the form and also reached out to the company via email. As of now, there's been no replies from the company, aside from "apologies for the inconvenience" and "we'll reply as soon as possible."

Feel free to email me if you have any questions or want to share your experience with either of these apps.

Happy Tuesday! Yesterday, two new apps hit Referral World: Roi and 1v1me.

This morning, I have updates for both of these apps:

Roi

Roi, currently marked as TESTING - indicating that this is a new app that hasn't been proven to pay out, yet - turns out to currently have a major referral tracking issue: Referrals haven't been tracking at all up to this point.

I reached out to the company who responded, informing me that the latest iOS update impacted their ability to track referrals properly. They are currently asking referrers to provide usernames of each person who signed up through them. Roi support also informed me that they are working on an app update to resolve the issue. No word, yet, on whether existing referrals will be correctly applied.

If you know who you signed up through yesterday/today, please let your referrer know your ROI username.

Update - 10/3, 11:04am PT:
Received this reply from Roi, stating that they're still working on the issue, and ask that we not refer ROI until everything is resolved.

Update - 10/3, 5:21pm PT: The CEO of Roi emailed its members the following email. Key takeaways from this email are:

Roi is working to update the app to include a unique referral code to aid them in tracking. At the time of this update, there is still no unique code to be found in the app, nor is there an update available.

Roi is still expecting us to send them the usernames of each of our referees. I checked my app, and there still isn't a single successful attached despite knowing I've had at least 20 successful signups (if not more).

The most aggravating part of this whole experience is that Roi knew about this referral tracking issue since at least yesterday morning, before we started promoting the app (see their Twitter post here). In this twitter post, they asked their followers to comment on the post and ask for a code. Note the one comment yesterday, indicating that that Twitter post was not as effective as Roi thought it would be. Or, perhaps it was if the intent was to not credit referrers for their successful referrers. I really can't say. What I can speak to is that when I signed up, and referees signed up using my link, there was nowhere in the app that asked for a referral code.

I'm about to reply to the email from Roi and share our experience and thoughts with them in hopes they resolve this tracking issue favorably. I will continue to update this post as I learn new information.

1v1me

1v1me has been paying out, though they apparently limit members to a certain number of bonuses (1 signup bonus and 9 referral bonuses in my case). After that number is hit, 1v1me disables the referral code and messages the member to contact them to resume earning bonuses. Once the member does, they're asked to fill out a form with various questions as to why they enjoy the app, along with why and how they will be referring it.

I will continue to provide updates to this post as they come, and I will also update the two individual posts I created yesterday. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Update - 10/3, 9:37am PT:
I've received word and screenshots from another referral marketer that they were denied their signup bonus and their referral code was also shut down, even though they hadn't referred anybody, yet. It's starting to look like 1v1me is reneging on their referral promotion, having possibly shut it down entirely (I'm uncertain of that at this time).

Update - 10/3, 2:52pm PT:
The 1v1me issues continue. Earlier today, I noticed there was a refer button which revealed a new code (different from my original code). When I texted support, they told me I'm still unable to refer despite this. And I'm now unable to even deposit/stake $1. Either their app is just being buggy, or they've raised their minimum stake amount but haven't updated the messaging.

Update - 10/3 - 7:35pm PT:
Getting reports that people who signed up before the codes were disabled are still able to deposit/stake and possibly get the $10 bonus (referrers are receiving their referral bonuses, at least). That said, 1v1me made another app update that is now requiring a $10 stake for your signup/referral bonus to be applied:
