Smart Desktop AI - More Excuses, Still No Payments!

If you signed up for Smart Desktop AI (aka SDAI) and haven't followed my updates in the dedicated "SDAI NEWS" featured post, I recommend you do that. SDAI was supposed to have paid affiliates on 8/10. With each business day that passed, still no payments were received by any affiliates. While SDAI was making announcements most days, there was no mention of any delays in payments until yesterday (8/15). In that announcement, SDAI claimed that their bank, Chase Bank, flagged the payments for review due to the number of payments slated to go out. In this announcement, SDAI claimed we'd all be receiving payments today as Chase approved the payments on 8/12.
Spoiler alert: nobody received payments today. Corey Snow, is cited as the owner on various articles found online. According to Corey himself, he's "just the messenger" and "an affiliate like us" who is reporting back and forth to/from some mysterious entity ("he who shall not be named"). And despite this latest claim, no proof of communication from Chase has been provided. No names have been shared as to who is behind SDAI.

Remember Moocho? Now "Pepper". Good Bonus, Bad News!

If you frequented Referral World in 2020, you may remember an app called Moocho. Moocho was a fly-by-night cashback app offering $10 signup and referral bonuses. Their promotion went viral but was short-lived as Moocho suspended most/all accounts within 24-48 hours without giving members any reason. I personally sent multiple emails, left voicemails, etc. When I finally called and got a hold of them a few months later, they refused to disclose any information as to why accounts were suspended, and the representative hung up on me!
Fast forward to this morning, when I came across Pepper Rewards, searched Referral World, and saw little promotion. I thought, "Wow, I just might have a great new opportunity to contribute!" as they offer $20 signup and referral bonuses after spending $100+, and they're also offering 10% cashback on Amazon purchases (today only). That excitement was short-lived as I went to download Pepper, only to discover that it is simply Moocho rebranded. Because of this, I will not be signing up for Pepper now and can't recommend it. That said, there are several great cashback portal alternatives, and you can find my featured list and tips for maximizing cashback bonuses here.

Have you heard of Solo (formerly WorkSolo)? Solo is an all-in-one app for delivery drivers and gig workers (i.e., Doordash, Grubhub, Instacart, Lyft, Uber, etc.). SDAI To-Do to Get Paid for All Your Referrals!
SDAI has been releasing near-daily announcements and I've been tracking those announcements and providing short summaries here. Yesterday, they announced they are working on processing missing and Tier-2 referrals on 8/17. They also state that it's up to us as referrers to check our referrals page in the "Tier-1" link on our SDAI dashboards and inform SDAI of any/all missing referrals. We only need to worry about missing Tier-1 referrals. They stated that all Tier-2 referrals attached to Tier-1 referrals will be accounted for.
If you signed up through me, please verify your name is included in the screenshot below. If you're not listed, Please email me at [email protected] and let me know your full name and email address ASAP so I can let them know (we need to let them know the info for any missing referrals by Wednesday at 5 PM EDT (that info along with their email address is in my SDAI news post here).
Aside from this news, nobody has yet received payment from SDAI's 7/10 disbursement. Hopefully, we'll start seeing payments post in our bank account within the next 1-2 days, so concerns about SDAI's legitimacy can be put to rest.

Smart Desktop AI (SDAI) hit Referral World in July with their $60 Tier-1 and $15 Tier-2 referral bonus promotion. The first wave of monthly payments was to be processed yesterday, 8/10.
As you may know, I've had some concerns about this promotion because of the company being non-US, promoting a product that nobody has seen, using Telegram and RoomDOTstore for communications, and requiring bank routing and account numbers to verify your account (and receive payments if you refer SDAI to others).
I've posted daily updates from the company's Telegram chat in my "Latest Smart Desktop AI News" featured post. Yesterday, SDAI updated members' dashboards with their pending commissions and posted another announcement informing us that they've processed many - but not all - of US members' owed bonuses (these bonuses should start posting to our banks beginning tomorrow). SDAI also discussed the thousands of fake accounts they've been dealing with, and all members must verify their accounts and authenticity by entering their bank routing and account numbers. Otherwise, they will not be considered valid members (and their referrers will not get paid for their signup).
Until I see payments ACTUALLY received by members, I still have my concerns, especially regarding sharing bank routing and account numbers with a foreign entity whom we know little about. Having said this, I don't want to stifle anybody's earnings/opportunity if this is legitimate. If you signed up and haven't provided your bank information yet, you have the option to connect to a bank that isn't your primary account (one you don't use much and/or doesn't have much of a balance). Freecash Continues to Slay!
It took me forever to be convinced to sign up for Freecash (mostly because I refer so many apps already that another GPT app sounded tedious). I'm so glad that RWN supporters Dre and Amanda persuaded me to finally sign up. I signed up on 7/19, and as of today, I've already scored over $1,006! All this through my signup, referral bonuses and by taking Freecash up on its offers. And I've barely scratched the surface of what Freecash offers. I've earned the most so far from playing Monopoly Go and Solitaire Grand Harvest. Keep in mind that I was able to do it while also moderating groups, referring apps, and, of course, creating these articles and other featured posts. Ownli Disables Codes, Changes Requirements, Adds Limits!
8/12 update: I spoke with Elan, the co-founder and CEO of Ownli, this morning. Elan explained the changes to the referral program, and how it stemmed from the number of fraudulent signups: people self-referring, providing bogus information about themselves, uploading fake vehicle screenshots, etc. Many of these people then turned around and started referring others as well.
Elan also further described their mission: giving folks like us the power over our own data and who it gets shared with and being compensated for sharing it when and with whom we choose.
I also learned that the 20-referral cap has always been in Ownli's terms, but until now, it's been something they've been letting slide. Based on what I was told about the number of fraudulent signup and referral attempts, I imagine they'll be adhering to this 20-referral limit. And I can't say I blame them.
I'm excited about what Ownli has in store and will share it once I learn more.
Ownli, a popular data-sharing app that caught Referral World's attention in early May, changed their terms last week, along with disabling members' referral codes.
Up until last week, the promotion was "sign up and complete any of the "Vehicle Check-in," "Insurance Policy Check-in," or "Property Check-in" data points to earn a near-instant $1-$6.25 and earn unlimited instant $3 bonuses for each referral who does the same. In the nearly three months I referred Ownli, I earned $446.25 in bonuses that I cashed out to Amazon gift cards, and Ownli held a spot on my past three "Biggest Earners" featured posts.
Last week, a person trying to sign up through me reached out and informed me that my code was coming up as invalid for them. I checked my Ownli app and sure enough, my code had been disabled, with a message that I needed to unlock my code with a confirmed insurance check-in. I attempted doing a follow-up vehicle check-in, but it didn't unlock the code. I reached out to Ownli but the issue hasn't been resolved yet. That said, the CEO reached out to me, and I have a Zoom call scheduled for tomorrow to discuss further.
I also noticed that Ownli updated their referral terms three days ago. Key changes include the "insurance policy check-in" being listed as the only valid method for triggering the signup bonus, along with a new "maximum 20 referrals per user" stipulation. At this point, it appears that the maximum you'll be able to earn is $60.

Rakuten Replaces Years-Old Promo With 10% Promotion!

Last week, I discovered and reported on Rakuten's new 10% promotion and how it replaced their longstanding $30 signup bonus promotion for some other members. At the time, I assumed this was targeted to some users - but not all - after noticing another referrer's link still offered the $30 promo. I reached out to Rakuten and asked for specifics about the new promotion. Rakuten informed me that this new promo replaces the old one for everybody. 
Rakuten's old promotion was, "spend $30+ and get $30 from Rakuten." The new promotion offers an extra 10% cashback on all qualifying purchases for the first seven days from signing up (up to $50 in extra cashback).
The good news is that if you plan on making a large purchase or several smaller purchases soon and haven't signed up for Rakuten, yet, this extra $50 is on top of the cashback Rakuten offers for shopping through their portal. For instance, Nike currently offers 3% cash back on your purchases. The signup bonus means you'll earn 13% cashback. With back-to-school shopping upon us, this is a great opportunity. The downside is that the old promotion was essentially 100% cashback on your first $30 spent, and you also had a longer period to trigger the bonus.
Referral bonuses remain at $30 per successful referral. This new promotion appears to run through September 30th. I'm unsure whether it will be extended, revert to their regular $30 bonus promotion, or be replaced by another new promotion.

Be Careful Who You Trust!
Have you been scammed in Referral World? You're not alone. Over the years, I've been scammed while paying for Acorns, Revolut, and Webull signups. And most people I interact with in Referral World have been scammed by someone at least once. It's unfortunate because Referral World offers us all incredible opportunities, especially in the United States, where hundreds of US-only promotions are not available in other countries. For those of us living in the US, there is no reason for anyone to be scamming. But the internet being a world of strangers, some folks have no qualms about lying to and ripping off someone they interacted with on Facebook. And some people actually seem to find great joy in scamming others.
These days, I've been mostly successful with putting in safeguards to getting scammed. For instance, when I offer to pay for a Webull signup, I don't pay upfront to ensure I don't pay somebody for their signup only to find out days later that they didn't sign up through me (or at all), or were an existing member, or reversed their deposit (all things which deem them an invalid referral and results in no referral bonus being issued).
While my efforts to avoid being scammed have helped, I've still been scammed three times in the past year. Two of those three scammers, Mary Grove and Shelley Denise Cameron, were people I'd been close with in Referral World for years and I had considered them to be close referral friends (people I could trust). In both cases, what started as regular referral-related conversations changed into them asking me for favors by either converting a gift card to cash at face value (Mary) or asking for multiple short-term loans and paying them back (Shelley). But both of them decided to ultimately scam me out of money and then block me on Facebook (Mary scammed me out of $126.96 in November 2023, and Shelley scammed me out of $40 a couple of weeks ago).
While scammers like Mary and Shelley may find satisfaction in finding "suckers" to rip off online, it's not just me their deception affects. Thanks to Mary and Shelley, I won't be helping others outside of sharing referrals anytime soon, regardless of how long we've interacted. And my advice to you as you're reading this: be careful who you trust, no matter how long you've known them (especially online).
While the only foolproof method to not get scammed by people you interact with regularly is to refuse to enter into financial transactions with them, there are great resources, such as the Facebook group Scammers on Blast. Here, you can search for names and review posts by others who have reported scammers, and you can post scammers who have ripped you off.
