Oooh Resumes Ambassador Program, Reduces Payouts!

After briefly pausing its Ambassador program due to the overwhelming response from Referral World, Oooh has informed us that they've resumed the program and updated their blog explaining the program and its benefits. Looking it over, a notable change is that they lowered the initial bonus from $25 to $20. They've also increased the referral requirement from 3 to 5 new people.
Based on the two screenshots below - the first screenshot I saw when I signed up, and the second screenshot from the blog today - weekly and monthly unique views have also changed. For instance, before the changes, 100 weekly views scored you $200. Today, you'll earn $50 (25%). The 10-, 50-, and 250-visitor marks have been removed entirely. A 500-visitor achievement was added and the 1,000-visitor bonuses were reduced by 50%.

Oooh is still processing applications. I submitted my application on 6/27 and am still waiting for approval. And based on the number of "when will I be approved" comments across Oooh official groups, I'm not alone. That said, the Oooh staff is small and is working tirelessly to process all applications ASAP.

Raise is Now GCX. Referral Links Break and Guarantee Shrinks!
Many in Referral World likely aren't familiar with Raise's Referral Program as I rarely see it promoted ($5 towards your first purchase, $5 referral bonuses). But you may be familiar with Raise as it's been a popular gift card reselling site for 11 years. Long before entering Referral World, I frequented Raise to purchase Lowe's and other gift cards at 5-20% discounts.
Raise members received an email tonight informing us that Raise Marketplace is now The Gift Card Exchange (aka GCX). GCX notified us of changes beginning tomorrow. Most notably, they've drastically lowered their money-back guarantee from one year to just 90 days. Personally speaking, this change won't affect me as I buy and use gift cards immediately. 
What will affect us is that referral links are no longer working. For instance, my link of https://geta.raise.com/JMEGOWAN6681 now redirects to https://gcx.raise.com/raise-rewards/JMEGOWAN6681 and breaks (reaching a 404 error page). Hopefully, this is a temporary bug, but I will reach out to support nonetheless.
The other standout information in the email is how GCX states they "do not guarantee any associated savings or discount" and that the 90-day guarantee "does not apply" in cases such as the retailer going out of business, filing bankruptcy, etc. I'm not sure what is meant by the first statement. This could simply mean that not all gift cards on GCX may be discounted. The 90-day guarantee exceptions seem reasonable as situations like a business shutting down after the fact are out of GCX's control.
Besides the incredibly short notice, I also see that Raise's URL in the email is gcx.raise.com, and raise.com still works as well. gcx.com has already been taken by a healthcare solution company, which will probably lead to confusion as Raise GCX works to rebrand itself.

Checking my Benjamin app yesterday, I noticed I received a referral bonus, but it was only $1, not the $6 that has been their promotion for the past several months. Additionally, the earned cashback requirement to trigger the signup bonus raised from $5 to $10. I'm not sure when exactly they made these change, but I believe it was this past week. Referral World Looks Promising this Month!

The Duds
For every "OMG, JUMP ON THIS!" app that hits Referral World, there is usually a handful of duds that also briefly gain popularity before disappearing just as quickly. I've written articles on these fly-by-nighters in previous RWN issues. The past week was no exception. Last week's duds included
"Blue Group Therapy" who offered a $50 Target gift card but apparently only honored it for a couple people before shutting it down.
Spotpet - Offered $25 Amazon gift cards but from what I read was quickly shut down. This one was likely due to some referrers publicly instructing others to "choose a random zip code from a different state if you don't qualify", "make up a pet if you don't have one", "stop once you get to the billing info screen" and similar directives to game the system. These kinds of attempts and directives to defraud the apps/companies is a surefire way to quickly get the promotion shut down and ruin it for everyone
