Bingo Champions Reverses Course [US]!

Last week, I reported on how the iOS app, Bingo Champions, stopped allowing members to use the majority of their earned signup and referral bonuses towards paid games. Good news for all of us who were impacted: The game reversed course and is once again allowing the bonuses to be used towards gameplay.

Hot Takes Increases Bonuses, Switches from Coins to Pick Tokens [US, CAN]!
Hot Takes, an app that went viral last week, has been offering instant $1 signup and referral bonuses and allowing those bonuses to be instantly cashed out without actually using the app for its intended purpose. This week, they changed all that. Hot Takes doubled the bonuses from $1 to $2, and while they're still instant, the bonuses are now being applied as "Pick Tokens" instead of "Coins". A new bank bonus promotion that few know about from Ally Bank hit Referral World last month. I quickly jumped on the opportunity, promoted it and maxed out my signup bonus referrals. My fiance also signed up on 3/28 and, after making a qualifying $10 deposit on 3/31, received the $100 signup bonus yesterday (4/3)!
Ally Bank is offering a $100 welcome bonus when you sign up for a Spending (checking) or Savings Account. Triggering the bonus is quicker when opening a Spending Account as you only need to make a single qualifying deposit. As far as I'm aware, there's no minimum deposit requirement. The deposit can be a direct deposit from an employer, or a push transfer from Current, Found, or Wise (other banks may work as well, YMMV). You can opt for a Savings Account instead if you'd like, though that option requires three monthly recurring deposits of $1 or more.
I chose the Spending Account option. I signed up on 3/5, deposited $25 on 3/6 and received my $100 welcome bonus last night! My fiance signed up 3/28, deposited on 3/31, and received the $100 welcome bonus last night (4/3)! The email Ally Bank sent us the following day to let us know we received $100 also included the referral link.

Happy Heavenly birthday to my mom, who would've been 75 today. We lost her earlier this year after a 5-month critical health battle. It's been an emotional day. The minigame app, Surprise, once viral for its generous and easy referral prize program, underwent several changes over the past year. Last year, they stopped supporting their Android app version and became iOS-only. And the game was shut down completely for a few months. It's been back up for some months now with several in-game improvements. I was only a couple referrals shy of earning my next $150 Lowes gift card last week. I went in the app to see if I'd earned it yet, only to find out that Surprise has now removed the referral program altogether, and they wiped out the 39 referrals I had earned towards the gift card. I reached out to support who confirmed that they've eliminated their referral program. Now, the only way to earn prizes in the app is through purchases and gameplay achievements.

If you signed up for and/or have been referring ShopBack, you may be aware of the withdrawal delay. ShopBack announced the upcoming delay in mid-February, informing members of the withdrawal processing pause the week of 3/25 through 4/1.

Apps on Blast!
Referral World offers great opportunities through signup and referral bonuses. It also gives companies the much-needed exposure they're seeking to be successful. After all: how many apps did you sign up for through a referral link that you would've never known anything about otherwise?
For all the positives, Referral World can also bring a lot of headaches and frustration. When signing up through someone's link, you may run into the occasional deceptive promoter or scammer trying to trick you into signing up through them under false pretenses. And when you refer, you may run into beggars and scammers trying to trick you into giving them money.
What makes things incredibly frustrating is when the company behind the promotions don't have their act together. I've encountered this issue multiple times in the past few weeks, where customer support has been unhelpful and even inept.
Stash, for instance, has been running an increased $30 signup and referral bonus promotion where you only need to deposit a penny. For the most part, this has been straightforward and a fantastic promotion. A few weeks back, though, one person who signed up through me didn't track my referral correctly when signing up, and we've been going through weeks of runaround with Stash Support. Even though my referee deposited a penny when she signed up, Stash support agents have been claiming that my referee needs to deposit $5+ to trigger the deposit (untrue), even despite us repeatedly sending Stash screenshots of the penny requirement terms. After two or more weeks of back-and-forth, they finally escalated the issue to the promotions department after I insisted they do so. Still, though, we've been waiting in limbo for several days.
I've run into a similar issue last week with Grifin where, a referee didn't track to my referral properly. Support has been great, though there's a technical issue with this particular case where the referee's deposit settled last week. On Grifin's end, the deposit is still showing as "pending". That issue's been escalated and hopefully will be resolved within the next few days. Still, Grifin understood the problem and also took my feedback of how they can improve the referral code entry and passed that on to their technical team.
I'm currently dealing with another company with a pretty awesome referral program, but who keeps changing my referral link on me without notice. A customer service representative - I'll call her Hellen - informed me that they changed my link because "the invitation program is intended for friends and family you know personally." That may be their intention, but legally, they're bound to the written terms which state nothing of the sort which Hellen appears to be oblivious of as she keeps citing the terms and conditions in her replies. I have refrained from pointing out this obvious blunder to Hellen, fearing that she'll just cop an even bigger attitude than she already has over the past few days. In my last email to her, I reminded her how much I've invested in the company and that I didn't appreciate her attitude. I also asked that if she cannot assist me, to please transfer me to another agent who does. 
Mishaps happen sometimes regarding things like referral tracking, confusion with terms/requirements/etc. Thankfully, most of the 100+ apps I refer rarely have these issues, and even if they do, customer support is excellent about promptly and favorably resolving them. My advice to all of these companies is to make sure they are proactive and aware when they have a "Hellen" who is tarnishing their reputation with their customers.
