Time for a Heart Break!
Around this time last year, I took a week off to rest my brain after eating, sleeping, and breathing everything Referral World. Back in September, I took a nearly 2-month hiatus as I tended to my mom and family, spending much of almost every day in the hospital with her.
If you read last week's RWN, you already know I lost my mom on 1/24/25. I mentioned how I wasn't sure how active I would be in Referral World. Not only did I remain active, but I kind of went into overdrive. I didn't allow myself to process losing my mom and the daily struggle of the past five months. It admittedly made for a great distraction and was even rewarding as I (hopefully) helped others and earned some impressive signup and referral bonuses. Still, I need to take some time to begin grieving and healing now that the initial numbness has worn off. I've decided to take another break from Referral World to adequately grieve, celebrate Brett's birthday later this week, and continue to be there to support my dad and family.
Whether this hiatus lasts a week, two weeks, etc., I wish you all the best in Referral World and promise I won't be gone too long. But before I go, here's the latest in RWN:
Zogo's Back in Referral World!

Zogo was an app I signed up for in 2021 (or maybe even earlier). It's a mobile app for teens and adults (age 13+) to learn financial literacy. Earn points towards gift cards to Amazon, Walmart, Starbucks and more by completing short, bite-sized modules. I loved this app when it first came out. It was a decent little moneymaker, and more importantly, it was fun AND educational, teaching me things about finance, stocks, interest, savings, etc., that I didn't previously know.
I stopped promoting Zogo a year or more ago after the app appeared to be suffering from a lack of funding from investors. They first increased the amount needed to redeem a gift card, and more often than not, you couldn't even withdraw to any gift cards because they were out of stock. Then, Zogo started a weird pay model where you had to upgrade to a subscription to cash out.
Fast forward to this morning, when several referrers started posting Zogo's bonus promos in referral groups. The new promotion offers a $5 signup bonus when you download the app, use code JOHNM711 and complete three short modules (you don't have to answer the questions correctly, you just need to complete them). And this new promotion offers $1+ referral bonuses.
I'm hopeful but hesitant about Zogo's return. I'm already hearing that they're running short on gift cards this month; hopefully, this is simply due to the promotion going viral today and not a rerun of my past experience with them.

The receipt-scanning/cashback app, Fetch, ran a new promotion that was supposed to end yesterday but was extended through today. Until 11:59 PM CST, you can get a $2 signup bonus and increased $3.50 referral bonuses.

Acorns New $2,100 Referral Promo!

Acorns just started a great new promotion: $5 signup bonus when you sign up for Acorns and invest $5 by 2/9. $5 referral bonuses as well, and if you refer six people by 2/9 who complete these same steps, you'll earn another $2,100 ($2,135 in total)!
Note that Acorns charges a monthly $3 fee after your first 30 days. You can cancel Acorns as soon as you withdraw your bonuses, though I recommend keeping it as they frequently offer generous referral bonuses. I've earned thousands from Acorns from promotions just like this one.
Important note: Ensure you complete all the steps when you sign up. Each week, I'll get at least one person who signs up but doesn't invest the $5 to trigger the signup and referral bonuses. The key things to remember: Sign up, verify your identity, invest $5, and leave it in until you receive your bonus from Acorns. Also, note that Acorns has a $3 monthly subscription charged after the first 30 days.

I signed up for Bingo Champions, one of the newest iOS apps to hit Referral World a few weeks ago. I have to say it's been a blast playing the games and it reminds me of Maryann, my "2nd Mom" who passed last year, and the many fun times we had at Bingo Karaoke (yes, it's a thing)!
