Komi Referral Terms Changed. What You Need to Know!
https://www.referralworldnews.com/go/komi
On Aug 28, Komi was one of the most attractive new apps in Referral World, offering a flat $50 instant bonus for every friend who signed up through your link and activated their subscription. It was simple, clean, and viral. However, as of 9/1, Komi quietly changed the rules, and it’s a significant shift.
What Komi promised on 8/28:
$50 flat payout when your referral subscribes (on day 8, after the 7-day trial).
No payout delays, just straight to your account.
What Komi changed on 9/1:
Now it’s a 25% revenue share of your referral’s subscription, capped at $50.
No payout occurs until after their first free month, meaning you’ll wait approximately 37 days before receiving a referral bonus.
Rewards only count on valid subscription payments (refunds and cancellations don’t qualify).
You must link your PayPal account in the Rewards section, with payouts delayed for validation and fraud checks.
What used to be instant $50 bonuses are now spread out slowly until you hit the cap.
Why this matters:
This is a textbook example of what we often see in Referral World with these new apps: they go viral and then change the fine print once people flood in. If you signed up and shared links before 9/1, keep your screenshots and saved terms (like I did) in case they try to renege on payouts. I’ve already submitted a ticket with Komi to confirm whether they’ll honor the original $50 offer for everyone who referred before the switch.
For reference, here are both versions of Komi's referral terms:

My take:
It’s still possible to earn with Komi, but don’t expect to earn $50s quickly anymore. Treat it as a “wait and see” program, and be cautious with your time and referrals until Komi proves they will consistently honor rewards.
9/2 update - Komi, initially offering $50 referral bonuses for each person who signed up and activated their subscription (referrer bonus only, no signup bonus). As of Sept 1, the terms have quietly changed. Here are the terms as they existed on 8/28/25 and also 9/2/25 for reference.

Original Offer (Aug 28):1. Sign up through my referral link (use the same email for Komi that you use for PayPal for seamless payouts).2. Verify your email right away.3. In Komi, go to Settings → Billing & Payments and choose the monthly plan ($14/month, first month free after the 7-day trial).4. Refer others. Once each referral's subscription is activated (day 8), Komi issues the instant $50 referral reward.
New Terms (as of Sept 1):
Sign up through my referral link and start your free trial.
The first month is free; billing begins in month two.
No signup bonus, but refer to earn 25% of each referral’s subscription revenue each month, up to a total of $50.
Payouts begin only after the free month, meaning the first reward typically appears around day 37.
Rewards are paid via PayPal once subscription payments are validated.
Notes:
Because of the "free month triggers bonus" that's happening right now, it's possible they'll be changing the terms now that this has gone viral (9/2 update: they did just that).
If you decide not to keep the subscription, you may want to create a Privacy virtual card with a set (small) limit to ensure you don't get charged for future months. Privacy is free and also gives you a $5 signup bonus! More info here.
One RWN supporter wasn't getting the free month option during signup. It showed up as expected for most. If you're not seeing the free month option, please let me know by emailing [email protected].
