Iconik Closes Accounts

In late August, Iconic began notifying members that they would be sunsetting their trading services and mobile application on September 30th, giving members options to transfer any holdings to Alpaca Securities LLC. Members were instructed to create a new account with Alpaca and email Alpaca, letting them know to transfer their holdings from Iconik to Alpaca. They also gave options of liquidating assets and/or transferring said holdings to another broker-dealer.

If you had holdings in Iconik, hopefully you received these notifications and liquidated or transferred them. I just received notification today that Iconik accounts are now being closed.

If you have any questions/issues, you can click here to email Iconik.

https://a.webull.com/hMql7iH11jCmzIlsKx

If you've been referring Webull this week, good news: Webull extended their referral promotions through 10/23. This means you have four more days to earn $60-$120 per referral, and $1,000/$2000 when you refer 8 people.

If you haven't signed up for Webull, yet, I still have some open spots and would greatly appreciate you signing up through me, plus you'll get $18+ from Webull and be eligible for this and upcoming Webull promotions. As a reminder: you must be new to Webull, have a valid US ID and deposit a penny before10/23 8:59PM PT.

10/18/23

Get $120+ for your first Webull referral!

Webull just upped their current promotions. Between now and 10/31, you'll get double the referral bonus for your first successful referral. This means a guaranteed $120 or more value as they award you 40 fractional shares!

Reminder that you still have time to earn Webull's guaranteed $18+ signup bonus, plus their guaranteed $60 bonuses for each of your first 10 referrals, along with $1,000 or $2,000 when you refer 8 people (that promotion expires tomorrow night).

Side note: If you started to sign up through me this past month and see your email/phone listed here in my referral tracking screenshots, click here to email me so I can help you finish up and get your new signup bonuses (you won't qualify as a new signup if you try and sign up through someone else's link).

Scrambly's $7 Referral Bonuses (This Week Only)!

Great news if you refer Scrambly: This week only, Scrambly's increased the Affiliate Bonus from $3 to $7! You get these bonuses instantly once your referee makes their first withdrawal (they get $0.60 signup bonus and can withdraw when they reach $1).
And whether or not you refer Scrambly, don't forget that they still have their instant $17-$20 offer going on when you sign up for crypto[dot]com through them. More info on that promotion here (for both new and current Scrambly members).

Don't Sleep on Solo!

https://www.referralworldnews.com/solo

While Referral World is full of unstable and fly-by-night apps, there are so many apps who have proven to be stable and reliable sources of extra income. Solo is one of these apps! Read more here about how I earned another $60 today, and over $4.7K since I signed up nearly two years ago (and you can, too!)

MoneyLion's $60 Bonuses Have Returned!

https://mlion.us/$55BONUS - code $55BONUS

If you haven't signed up for MoneyLion, yet, great news: they are, once again, offering $60 signup and referral bonuses. You'll get $10 when you sign up and open a free RoarMoney checking account. There's no spend or deposit requirement, and you'll receive the $10 in 2-3 business days. Earn another $50 when you receive a $50 direct deposit within 60 days (you can trigger the direct deposit bonus using the Found app if direct deposit from your employer is not available to you). This limited time promotion ends 10/31/23.

I highly recommend MoneyLion because of how easy it is to earn the bonuses, along with their quick payout. For more bank bonus opportunities, please check out my post, Featured Bank Bonuses and Tips on How to Trigger Them.

BTW, if you've signed up through me already and only earned the $5/$10 bonus, email me so we can trigger that deposit bonus!

Paid2Play isn't Legit, Doesn't Pay Out!

Paid2Play is the latest iteration of a long history of data-harvesting scam apps, including CloutZap, PaidToTap, SocailDM, SocaialRebel, Spin2Money, SurveyJ and many more. Foreign scammers have been using fake accounts to spread the Paid2Play scam across referral groups and sites for weeks, and some legitimate referrers have been falling prey to the scam, signing up and have been promoting Paid2Play as well.

Please DO NOT sign up for this app. Paid2Play doesn't pay out. It makes it appear as if you're earning bonuses but they never pay.

If you see Paid2Play posts in the referral groups or sites you frequent, please report those posts.

TEMU - ThE More U Know!

Speaking of data-harvesting apps... TEMU has been flooding referral groups and sites for over a year, now. Did you know that TEMU is under investigation by the US government? Grizzly Research accuses TEMU of programming the app to have access to ALL DATA on customer's phones, and that they were intentionally trying to hide their acts, intending to illegally sell all this data

Max Travel and Modak hit Referral World!

Two new apps hit Referral World this week: Max Travel and Modak.

Max Travel is a travel booking app offering exclusive discounts at over 800,000 hotels along with reward points that grow over time. The promotion:

  • Earn 100 points when you sign up ($1)

  • Earn 500 points with each referral ($5)

  • Earn 1,000 points for each referral who books their first hotel ($10)

Based on what I've seen, these rewards stack and can be applied for steeply discounted/free hotel stays, similar to Hopper. I hope so, because Hopper's $25/$50 bonuses have earned me two nearly free 4-star hotel stays and a 3rd entirely free stay. I'm working on my 4th stay, now, and can even use my referral bonuses for airline discounts if I choose.

Having said all that, I tried signing up for Max Travel today and the app is stuck on the Loading screen, indicating either a bug in their app, or else as some are reporting, Max Travel may have already paused/ended the referral program.

Modak (Aka ModaMakers) is a Parent/Teen banking/financial app, similar to Step from the sounds of it. Up until Friday, they were offering $30 signup bonuses and an extra $50 to invited partners, along with $20 referral bonuses. On Friday, they updated members informing them that Modak paused the $50 program and are backed up processing signup bonuses and also asked that referrers hold off until Monday before referring Modak to others.

I will provide updates throughout the week as I receive them, and include signup links for Max Travel and Modak if all goes well. In the meantime, you can find signup links for both of these apps in Referral World.

10/17 update - Still no updates to report. I still can't login to Max Travel and haven't received any updates from Modak.

ConceiveAbilities Surrogacy and Referral Program

https://share.conceiveabilities.com/spreeshopper0

ConceiveAbilities is reportedly one of the nation's top egg donor and surrogacy agencies, helping people in need build their families. In addition to the work they do, they have been paying people to participate and get the word out. These bonuses are available to both parties (referrer and referee):

  • $5 for signing up (only email required)

  • $50 for both when completing the online surrogate registration form

  • $100 for both when taking the follow-up call from ConceiveAbilities

  • $500 when the applicant is approved to be a surrogate

ConceiveAbilities obviously isn't for everyone, but if this is something that might interest you, you can get started here.

Is Webull the New Acorns?

https://a.webull.com/hMql7iH11jCmzIlsKx

As you may know, Webull is one of the most lucrative apps in Referral World. Since I joined, I've earned nearly $14,000 from their signup bonus and generous referral bonuses. That said, not everything's roses when it comes to Webull.

Back when I signed up, this was what could be expected from their signup and referral promotions:

  • Signup bonuses were typically $25-$50 and the promotion only changed every few months.

  • A penny deposit was usually - but not always - required, and sometimes bonuses were awarded as soon as the deposit was initiated; most times, bonuses were awarded when the deposits settled. Account opening bonuses were $3-$4+ value each share, and deposit bonuses were $7+ guaranteed per share.

  • Each referral promotion typically lasted a month, and a separate "big bonus" promotion - i.e., 1 full share of Apple stock when you refer 3 people - also lasted a month.

  • Referrers were limited to 10 referrals per month.

  • Signup and Referral bonus rewards were issued in the form of full stocks, either $3 or $7 minimum value. Typically, members received the lowest value stocks, but often randomly received full shares valued at $25-$100 or more.

  • Referrers were able to easily track where the referees were in the signup/deposit process as they signed up, applied for a brokerage account, were approved, initiated their deposit and when their deposit settled.

Over time, Webull made several changes, including:

  • Removing the max referrals limit. Now, you can refer an unlimited amount of people.

  • Changing the "full shares" to "fractional shares" that enabled them to offer a wider variety of stocks as rewards.

  • Still requiring the penny deposit, or even a $100 deposit, but eliminated the deposit bonus stocks (signup bonus), which were higher in guaranteed value than the account opening bonus ($7 vs $3). Now, all signup bonus shares are $3+ guaranteed (typically $18+ guaranteed)

  • Offering higher-valued "big referral bonuses", such as "Refer 3, get $300 in Apple shares".

  • Shortening the duration of each promotion from a month to two weeks

  • Limiting the referral tracking to only show when a referee signed up, when their account was approved and when their deposit settled (removing ability to track the steps in between).

  • Decreasing the odds of receiving anything higher than the minimum reward value. It's not impossible to receive shares worth more the guaranteed minimum value - I received $3K in Tesla shares from a single referral - but it's much more likely that the lowest possible reward values will be rewarded ($3/share).

I initially welcomed SOME of their changes. For instance, removing the 10-max-referrals per month cap meant that I could keep referring Webull all month long. And, two promotions in a month meant I could earn the "big bonus" twice a month! In reality, though, these changes made Webull a much more saturated app that everyone seems to have. Offering to pay people who sign up for Webull through me has helped, but it's also attracted several scam attempts... People claiming they've never signed up for Webull before when they have. People claiming they made a deposit when they didn't (or worse, reversing the deposit). Typically, these people will demand payment up front even though referrers don't get credited for the successful signups until their penny deposit settles 2-4 business days later.

All of these things remind me of when I used to refer Acorns. Acorns offered good and even fantastic referral promotions every week, such as "refer 5 and get $1,000", or "refer 8 and get $1,500". Every week, though, the app became more saturated in Referral World, and it also became a breeding ground for Acorns scammers, scamming referrers out of hundreds, even thousands of dollars because of how easy it was to sign up for an account using bogus info, make a deposit, then reverse it.

Webull's latest Halloween promotion has attracted a ton of attention in Referral World, offering $1,000 guaranteed when you refer 8 people. BUT, you only had a week to do it (the promotion expires 10/19 9pm PT). Don't get me wrong: it's a fantastic promotion that's guaranteeing $60 in fractional shares for each successful referral, and $1,000 guaranteed if you can successfully refer eight people. But earning the $1,000 bonus by referring eight people in 7 days is anything but easy.

I will continue HIGHLY recommending Webull because of the great bonuses they offer for both signing up (and depositing a penny), and for their better-than-most referral bonus opportunities. I personally earned both big bonuses in September ($1,000 total, plus the individual referral bonuses). But with this whole 7-day promo scheme they're running for this current promo - and likely the next one - I have a feeling I'll be the old man telling others about Webull's "good old days".

Instant $17-$20 From Scrambly's Crypto Offer!

https://referralworldnews.com/scrambly

There's been a great promotion through Scrambly the past few weeks: Sign up for Scrambly (or log in if you're an existing user) and sign up for crypto[dot]com through Scrambly. Open a new crypto account and buy $1 of Bitcoin, and you'll receive $17 instantly from Scrambly. I published a blog post the other day with step-by-step instructions to do this, and also to increase the offer from $17-$20. See that post here.

Chime's Stackable Signup Bonuses!

https://www.buymeacoffee.com/johnmego/jozuyacohu

If you haven't signed up for Chime, yet, now might be a great time to do so. Several people have reported being able to successfully stack Chime's signup bonus (when using a referral link) with signup bonuses that Swagbucks and MyPoints are offering. See my detailed blog post with step-by-step instructions and screenshots for more info. The stackable promotions end 10/31/23.

Two Troubled Apps Hit Referral World: ROI and 1v1me

Earlier this month, two apps hit Referral World the same day and quickly went viral: ROI and 1v1me.
ROI, a portfolio manager app, had no signup bonus but offered some impressive referral rewards: $150 when you refer 10, all the way up to $35,000 when you refer 2,000 people. Turns out, though, that ROI wasn't properly tracking ANY referrals. And they knew about this issue before their promotion hit Referral World. Since I originally reported, I was in constant contact with ROI support to try and resolve. ROI released an app update that now gives each referrer a unique referral code that must be shared along with the referral link. To date, though, ROI has not credited owed signups to the referrers they signed up through (at least in my case). No word on whether they're crediting signups using the unique referral codes and/or honoring the advertised bonuses.

1v1me, a game betting app, awarded $10 stake bonuses for each signup and referral, only requiring a $1 deposit. The $10 bonus was added to each $1+ stake made by the user. This didn't last long, though, as 1v1me disabled our referral codes hours after we signed up, and throughout that day, raised the minimum stake/deposit requirement from $1 to $10. Support was elusive and indifferent to requests for more information, and even reneged on some users' signup bonuses, claiming "max redemptions exceeded" as the excuse.

It was a disappointing 24 hours for sure, especially since I'd been avoiding signing up for "New! New! New!" apps for this very "fly-by-night" reason.

For the play-by-play I reported as the events were unfolding, check out my blog post here.
