Acerca de John Ogletree
Hey! I’m John. 👋
I’m a self-taught developer, web programmer, and graphic designer building independent, local-first tools for the web.
I’m passionate about the craft of raw web development; writing pure, hand-crafted vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript without relying on heavy frameworks, build tools, or third-party APIs. I believe in software that executes directly in your browser, runs offline, respects user privacy, and lasts without constant dependency churn.
What I’m Building & Experimenting With
* Local-First Web Tools: Projects like OmniPost (a canvas tool for social media layout design) and T.A.P. (an in-browser translation engine operating via local dictionary mappings).
* Zero-Build Architecture: Lightweight, utility-first CSS systems and minimal scripts (like a11y-speech-helper) designed to run anywhere with zero setup.
* Digital Experiments: Exploring generation loss and digital decay through video loop experiments and media archive projects.
* Open Source: Documenting and sharing my process line-by-line across GitHub, archiving thoughts, and keeping the indie web alive.
Why Buy Me a Coffee?
Building hand-crafted, framework-free software and keeping projects free and independent takes time, experimentation, and a lot of caffeine.
If you appreciate local-first tools, lightweight web design, or have found any of my scripts, utilities, or projects helpful, buying me a coffee is a great way to support my work and keep the code flowing.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting independent development! ☕✨
