Ukraine launched a major drone attack on a munitions site in Russia’s Toropets, about 250 miles west of Moscow — resulting in massive explosions and smoke visible from space, according to reports.
Russia's 107th GRAU Arsenal in Toropets is covered in a series of infernos and secondary explosions after a Ukrainian drone attack last night. The facility, which houses thousands of tons of Russian ammunition, continues to burn into this morning,” OSINTtechnical posted on X.
Igor Rudenya, the Tver Region governor, told Russia’s RT that he has ordered a “partial evacuation of residents from the territory where the air defenses are active and responders are working to contain the fire.”
There are no reports of casualties.

While drones were blamed, some on social media wondered how they could be launched so deep inside Russia. There has been recent debate among NATO members about allowing Ukraine to fire long-range missiles deeper inside Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that would mean a direct war between Russia and NATO.
Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s top diplomat, told reporters earlier this month that Washington should take the Kremlin’s red lines seriously and—for the second time—warned that WWIII would not be confined to Europe.
Lavrov said the U.S. needs to understand that WWIII would not be isolated in Europe.
“This idea reflects the mindset of the American planners and geostrategy experts who believe that they can simply sit the whole thing out,” Lavrov said, according to Common Dreams. “I think that it is important to understand in this situation that we have our own doctrine, including the one governing the use of nuclear weapons. An effort to update it is underway.”
He said Americans have the mindset of a “master sitting somewhere out there overseas and believing to be totally safe and secure, thinking that not only Ukrainians but also, as it turns out, Europeans would be willing to do the dirty work and die for them.”
