There is this time of year here when the Dust from the Sahara blows west across the Atlantic and creates this filter (it also agitates anyone with allergies or respiratory issues but that's another story). For my husband's birthday weekend, he and I drove down the mountain to the Balneario to watch the sunset and caught a great view of how thick the dust was at this time. This is after sometime without rain so it's pretty "bad".
The bright side is that this anomaly tends to keep tropical disturbances away from the Lesser and Greater Antilles so the season has been quiet (Also, El Niño, but lets not give it all the glory).
Anyway, enjoy this sunset in my sleepy little town. Taken 9/26/2026.
Note: My cover photo was taken same day just a wider shot.
