I'm a foreign policy analyst and media commentator. I started volunteering on the side with Ukrainian groups in Berlin in early Feb 2022. When the full-scale invasion came, 'on the side' turned into around the clock crisis response support on evacuations and aid delivery. As the weeks became months, it became increasingly clear my government wasn't going to step up, so I had to. Since April 2022 I wrapped up outstanding commitments and put my consulting work (www.costruct.co) on hold to support Ukraine full time, with no paycheck. I lived off savings and paid my travel costs out of pocket until August 2022, when my savings were running out and I had to consider returning to my normal work. At which point a friend encouraged me to set up this crowdfund to support life and travel costs so that I could continue.

Thanks to your support, I have been able to:

-Raise over 250,000€ in donations for life-saving medical supplies, drones, winter gear, night vision goggles, and an Armored Personnel Carrier 

-Raise my voice through media commentary on DW News, BBC News, the Washington Post, LA Times, Al-Jazeera English, ZDF, ARD, NTV, France24, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Tagesspiegel, Berliner Zeitung, et al.

-Deliver aid to front line military units in Donbas and to civilians in need in liberated villages near Kherson and Odesa

-Launched a fundraising campaign in partnership with Leleka Foundation and Ukraine Aid Berlin that has delivered over 6,000 tourniquets and counting to frontline medics

-Help Ukrainian civil society groups connect with international suppliers and partners

-Support Ukrainian diplomatic and communications outreach in African countries
