Jason Bowles aka 'Jason's Haggard Faces' is a Dorset based Artist, best known for his unique portraiture. Jason believes Facial expressions are a language to be read, with an entire spectrum of emotion to serve as a dictionary to explore. As a neurodivergent and dyslexic artist, Bowles puts into paint and pen the words that have escaped him. His painting is a coping mechanism and the meditative act of channeling the emotional confusion and dysregulation he feels into a conversation that can be universally felt and understood. He captures the essence of a moment shared between artist and subject and lays it out naked, pure, and voyeuristically vulnerable to the audience.

Painting because he has to, without any delusions of grandeur or higher purpose, Jason is an artist that brings vibrant colour into his own life in order to deal with the dull grey palette of an otherwise mundane existence. Untethered from the restrictions of Realism, Bowles speaks in shades of Fauvism, his brush dancing in the light and shadow cast by Post-Impressionism, fusing the truthful hues drawn through an Expressionism exorcism with the splatter, soak, and spew of Surrealist soul.
