I’m Jane Travis, and I help counsellors and psychotherapists make it easier for the right clients to find, understand and choose them — without feeling like they need to spend their life on social media or develop an entirely new personality.

A lot of my work is about something surprisingly simple: making it easier for the right people to choose you.

Because you can be a brilliant counsellor, but if someone lands on your website and can’t quite work out whether you understand them, they may simply move on. And that’s where the words you use really matter.

Having spent many years in the counselling world myself, I know how difficult it can be to put such personal, nuanced work into words — especially when talking about yourself makes you want to hide behind the nearest sofa.

So these days, I share practical, down-to-earth ways to improve your website, get found online, write useful content and talk about your work in a way that actually sounds like you. Because marketing your private practice shouldn’t feel like performing — it should feel like helping the right people understand who you are, how you work and whether you might be right for them.

I run the Grow Your Private Practice membership and Framework First, host The Grow Your Private Practice Show podcast, and wrote the Grow Your Private Practice book.
