About James the Homeless Poet
James the homeless poet, like many of us has not had life handed to him on a silver platter.
We are all closer to being homeless than we are to being billionaires.
Ongoing medical conditions led James to a nasty fall and he lost mobility in his writing hand.
The hard concrete floor is not a place to nurture rehabilitation.
The writing you see on the front page has been done with his left hand.
Some of the heartfelt poems in his tatted notebooks have been re-written for him by different compassionate strangers turned friends who passed by.
James recently got beat up by the police, the same people who we are fooled into thinking protect us.
I’m working with James to make a zine which tells his story and we can distribute his poetry.
Hopefully Jame’s will be able to find housing and funds will support him to keep his spirit in this broken system.
We keep each other safe.
