About James "Wheatbread" Martin
I create music, music lessons, and other cool things
Music is my passion.
I released my first JamesNotJim solo album, Whole Wheat Funk in 2023 and my second, Quiet, in 2025. You can find them on all the streaming services and Bandcamp.
I'm the author of Wheat's Guitar Scales and Wheat's BassBook.
I occasionally post bass videos on TikTok (and sometimes on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram). I blog about music, tech stuff, book, and other things at wheatblog.com. I answer questions, somewhat compulsively, on Quora. My homepage is wheatdesign.com
And I really do like coffee. Who doesn't?
Thank you for supporting my work.

I've been enjoying TikTok lately. The Duet feature is great for musicians. It gives us the chance to jam with people across the globe. Thought I've only been active there since 12/30/2020, but, as of right now, I have 800 followers . I'd love for you to be among them. Here's my latest bass vid over there. Thanks to each of you who have shown your support here.
