"Shamziah" is a new work, still drying and part two of "The Fallen" series. This is a painting based upon the stories found in the Book of Enoch where the fall of the angels is narrated. This documents the events that led to the rise of civilisation in the lands of Sumer, and the cause of the Great flood.
The leader of the Fallen angels is named as Shamziah in the Book of Enoch. It was the Fallen Angels who brought civilisation to Sumer, against the will of the highest Angelic power -Anu.
The Book of Enoch describes the Angels as both scientists, civilisers and divine beings all in one, in a layered historical narrative coloured by myth, religion and mistranslation. It is one of the key texts that reveals the strange origins of civilisation in the Near East, origins that lie at the root of our modern technological world.
