Now these words are quite colorful, if I might add, expressive.

and easy to add to your daily vocabulary. Whether you're texting your friends, chatting in class, or just trying to sound more natural in conversation, these words will definitely sweeten your English.

Welcome to Your Jamaican Dose, the podcast that spices up your English learning with tropical energy and a whole heap of vibes. My name is Monifa, your Jamaican ESL coach, bringing you the rhythm and the realness of English island style. Whether you're brushing up your skills in the morning or if you're winding down in the evening.

This podcast is your English escape. So let's dive right in. So today's episode is called sweet words. We're going to look at 10 fun English words you will love to use daily. Now these words are quite colorful, if I might add, expressive.

and easy to add to your daily vocabulary. Whether you're texting your friends, chatting in class, or just trying to sound more natural in conversation, these words will definitely sweeten your English.

Plus, all 10 words and example sentences are in the show notes, so you can follow along or you can review them later. So let's get into it.

Now the first word is yummy. I'll say it again, yummy. This one is perfect to use when something tastes amazing. If it tastes delicious. If it tastes so, so good.

For example, that jerk chicken was so yummy. You'll hear it all the time as it relates to like casual conversations. Both kids and adults use it. Now word number two, chill. We hear chill a lot. For example, we hear Netflix and chill, right?

What chill actually means, right, is really to just relax. Good? It means to just be laid back, relaxed, not stressing. Good? So, for example, I could say, let's chill by the beach today. It means let's just go relax at the beach today. Right? So it's that simple.

Word number three, buddy. I'll say it again, buddy. Buddy is another word for friend. It's warm and it's friendly. So you could say, hey buddy, want to grab lunch today? It's again, that simple. And yeah, some people even use it with their pets, right? Some will say, let's go play buddy.

with their dog for example. Now word number four. Cozy. Cozy is when something feels warm, safe, comfortable, then you could just say it's cozy. So my bed is so cozy, especially after a long day. It's super comfortable.

Good? Now word number five. Giggle. Yes. To giggle means to laugh softly. Like when something's cute or funny, just a little, you know? For example, she giggled when the puppy licked her face. Now you try it. Giggle. Giggle.

Now if you want to sound more natural, try repeating these words using Elsa Speaks. It helps you improve pronunciation with instant feedback. I use it with my students all the time and it is fun and effective.

Now word number six, glow. To glow means to have a gentle shine, know, like a candle or someone who has very healthy, beautiful skin, or if someone is just radiating this shine, you know, sometimes you hear people use it when someone looks happy.

or when they're like pregnant, you're like, you're glowing. It means that you're just shining. Like you're just a star. You're just bright, right? Not physically shining, you know, just figuratively. Just figuratively. And it's a compliment, okay? And everyone loves a compliment, right? Now word number seven, nifty.

Nifty means just clever, useful, or even cool. For example, this water bottle has a fan on top. That's nifty, right? That's kind of smart. That's clever to create a water bottle like that.

Good? So it's when something kind of surprises you in a smart way, you could use nifty. Let's say it again. It's nifty. Nifty. Word number eight. Bubbly. Bubbly, bubbly, bubbly.

This describes someone who's cheerful and full of energy. For example, my new teacher is so bubbly, she makes class fun. It means that she's just so nice and cheerful and has all this energy all the time. That's just a bubbly personality. Now, word number nine, goofy.

And no, I'm not talking about goofy from Mickey Mouse. I'm talking about the word goofy, which means to be silly, playful, and even a bit clumsy, but in a very cute way. So it's like cute clumsy. So for example, my brother makes goofy faces to make the baby laugh.

Right. I have to be doing a lot of goofy faces for my kids too. All right, but I don't know if I'm that entertaining. So that's goofy. And our last word, 10th word is tuck. Now tuck means to gently fold or place something safely. Good. So sometimes you might hear people say

tuck your shirt in before school, right? When you tuck your shirt in, it makes you look neat for success, as my daughter always says. So you tuck in your shirt before school and after school so that you still look neat. So that's tuck. So I gave you guys 10 sweet words that you could use. So I hope, I, I hope.

I hope you used your notebook or you could use a tool like Notion.

and just start your own vocabulary word list that you could practice on a daily basis to keep practicing and improving. And it's not just writing these words, it's actually writing the words, the meanings, and also creating sentences using your life experiences. And that's how you're going to own your vocabulary.

So from the list today, I want you to pick three words and use them in a voice note or even a short video. Even if you want to do it in a story on Instagram and you could send it to me at yourjamaicandose at gmail.com or you could tag me on Instagram at yourjamaicandose. That's Y-O-U-R.

J-a-m-a-i-c-a-n-d-o-s-e. The best ones, who knows, might get a shout out. So let's quickly recap the 10 words we looked at. Yummy, chill, buddy, cozy, glow,

Nifty, bubbly, goofy, and tuck. Now, which one was your favorite? Drop a comment and review whenever you listen to these podcast episodes. All right? So thank you guys for hanging with me today on Your Jamaican Dose. If today's sweet words made you smile,
