Greetings, SPFR Pension Estimator users! We are happy to announce the release of version v0.1.2, bringing some performance improvements and adjustments to the user interface. We take pride in crafting a tool that supports the first responders of Saint Petersburg Fire & Rescue, and this update is a stride in that ongoing effort. What's New in v0.1.2?
Performance Improvements: We rewrote several hundred lines of code to improve the app's state management and optimize its performance. These changes contribute to a smoother and more responsive user interface, especially for users with slightly older devices.
Enhanced User Experience: The primary eligibility input form, where users provide their date of birth and the date they were hired, has been revamped to adhere to the guidelines outlined in the U.S. Web Design System's documentation. This update focuses on improving the input method for memorable dates. Previously, entering dates further back in time posed challenges due to a more cumbersome input process. Now, users can quickly enter their retirement eligibility information and see a pension estimate displayed at the top of the screen more promptly.
Keeping Up with Dependencies: To ensure that SPFR Pension Estimator stays up-to-date with the latest advancements, we have incorporated the most recent releases of the application's source code dependencies.
