What is Buy Me a Coffee and Why did I make one?

May 17, 2022

Hello there. Chances are you know me personally as it is most likely you have found this link, or been directed to this link via one of my social media profiles. I have started this account as a way to allow those who have benefitted from my photography passion to support my continuing love of taking photos. Most of my photographic work has been given to people free of charge, whether it be to share on there social media pages, print out and display within their home, or just to look back upon and relive a great memory.

I love capturing moments and allowing people to see themselves from a different perspective, one that the rest of the world is lucky to see, however they cannot. I do not wish to ask people for money everytime I send them photos, or even at times, full albums of photos. This site however, puts the power in the hands of the people, allowing those who wish to say thank you, the opportunity to do so with a small (or large 😏) donation. Perhaps even those who haven't had their photography taken by me may want to help fund the continuation of my development as a photographer, and if so, that would be ever so greatly appreciated.

What will I be using the funds for that are generated through this channel?

Initially getting prints made and possibly purchasing film for some recently acquired 35mm cameras. Oh and certainly a coffee here or there, particularly when I need to get up for early Queensland sunrises and I'm struggling to get moving. Eventually, if enough support comes in, I may use funds to purchase gear, such as a filters, lens, etc, however that is not my initial plan. I enjoy having my work printed to be displayed, but that does get expensive and so I would like to have a bit of a "print fund" that I can dip into in order to surprise friends and family for birthdays, holidays or other special occasions. The look on someone's face when they are gifted a printed photograph of themselves is extremely rewarding. There's something about the tactile nature of a printed photgraphy in an increasingly digital world that seems to make it feel extra special.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. If you stumbled across this page and would like to "buy me a coffee", that would be amazing. If you already have, Thank You! And, if neither of the aformentioned describes you, well, that's absolutely fine as well. Have a great day!
