About Ixen
Hello! I'm Sam (aka Ixen), and I'm the creator and primary developer of the complex game system known as Castles & Crusaders, using the Meta Ruleset.
The Meta Ruleset is a cooperative combined arms tabletop roleplaying wargame built as a simple set of rules for players needing structure to run large scale tactical combat. In its base form, players control one or more military units (like a squad of infantry, a fighter jet, a mechanized assault vehicle, or a battle tank), and issue orders for these units on a map, facing off against an enemy army run by a Game Master like myself.
Unlike the original, Castles & Crusaders is set in a High-Fantasy setting, complete with swords, knights, wizards, violent beasts, flying creatures, and of course, dragons. From the more classical tropes of castle sieges and cavalry charges to the more fantastical elements of flying monsters and magic, C&C works for any number of players needed for any size group.
To honor the original developers, I fully intend to keep the Meta Campaign ruleset and the C&C ruleset free to access and play for as long as possible. Tabletop Gaming is about telling stories, and nobody should be prevented from telling their own, through whatever lens that may be.
