Whether you started listening to us for empowerment or to educate yourself with undiluted and representative African history, welcome to our platform.
We’re still new to the game, we went live in March 2020 after we felt we needed to counter the misconception that Africa is a country, by appreciating the identity of each nation. The research we've done so far has helped us understand our heritage more (Nigerian and Congolese), whilst helping others do the same. We also found that the Western education we received never went into detail on African countries, and the impact of European colonial rule.
Through each episode we explore key historical moments which have shaped the continent, in an easily digestible, satirical (and shady) format . We're also on Instagram as @itsacontinentpod and Twitter @itsacontinent .

I started working with unaccompanied migrant minors who are mostly African in France, and started listening to your podcast to understand Africa's decolonized history. I then bought several copies of the book Its a Continent to share with our volunteers and only wish the book was in French for one of the kids, from Guinea, who is studious and loves to study Africa's history. Anyway, there's 35 teenager boys in the center, and I volunteer to teach any of them computer skills, and we started making songs with AI to use in DJ sets, and I was inspired to make a simple dubstep version of Africa Is Not A Country. Enjoy! https://youtube.com/shorts/FDn754YFawU?feature=share
