My thoughts to day were filled with some hope that we are soon free of colonialism. Yes, it hurts as passes from this world. It was never a good or just ideology. What made me think a lot about this today was when I stopped to put tobacco down and speak with the buffalo moms and their little ones, now bouncing teens coming into the 'fall.' I sat and prayed, offered my tobacco and looked up at the Sun and then to them. It was that moment the ancestors spoke. We are not free. I looked at them and saw the fence between us. No, we are not free. They are not free, we are not free.
