Hey, I'm Chris 👋

Developer, sci-fi author, and the guy behind Intrepid Developer.

I've been building apps for over 15 years, mostly in the Microsoft world with .NET, Blazor, Aspire and Azure. By day I'm a Lead Developer working on decarbonising commutes through smart tech. By night (and very early mornings!) I'm writing, coding and shipping my own projects:

✍️ The Shepherd Trilogy: my hard sci-fi series. Book I, The Shepherd Alignment, is out now, and I'm deep in Book II.

📚 Maldric: a writing desk for indie authors, built from what I needed for my own series. Your series bible and timeline sit beside the manuscript, and it suggests but never writes for you.

🐾 Code Paw: a coding app for kids, built with (and tested by) my own two boys.

➗ Maths Paw: Code Paw's maths-focused little sibling, in the works.

🌿 Pollen Cloak: a hay fever and pollen app for UK sufferers like me.

💻 The Intrepid Developer blog: honest tutorials and real-world lessons on .NET, Aspire and shipping side projects.

All of it is built around a full-time job and family life as a partner and dad of two amazing boys. Family comes first, and the code and chapters fit around it.
