In The Cab Radio is a multi-media project that incorporates storytelling and music for individual and collective healing, and FUN. Jada White (aka Dream Queen), a 30 year radio veteran, is the creator and executive producer.
The journey started with my show "In the Cab with Dream Queen," a two-hour live radio show on KMRD-LP, all volunteer run, low power community radio in northern New Mexico. The first hour features multi-genre music, often highlighting the work of BIPOC, queer, and woman/femme/non-binary artists, authors, musicians and activists. The second hour consists of book club discussions, interviews, and solo pontifications on topics of spirituality, politics, and personal growth, asking questions and seeking answers in a complicated era.
"In The Cab On The Road" is a field project, pre-recording in remote locations. I collect stories, photos and videos of everyday folks out in the world doing beautiful things in their environments whenever possible. The mission is to bring us closer together, expand our view of humanity, and maybe even heal us up a bit. I believe our vulnerability in sharing story and wisdoms across cultures can help elevate all life and this planet.
In The Cab Radio will continue to grow and form collaborations with creators, artists, radical therapists, healers, social justice warriors, and regular folks making the world a better place in their own ways. Together we will remember who we are, what good we are capable of as a species, and imagine a future of equity, bounty and health for ourselves and future generations. We will be another source of light in entertainment.
