The Resilient Heart

The Resilient Heart

Sep 12, 2025

I cannot hush the restless rain,

I cannot bid the winter stay,

Nor hurry spring to bloom again,

For time will move in its own way.

The autumn comes with golden leaves,

They crunch beneath my wandering feet.

I breathe the air, so crisp, so sweet,

And find in loss what joy believes.

The winter’s frost may bite the air,

But snow drifts down with gentle grace,

A quiet art, a pure embrace,

That dresses earth with beauty rare.

The truth is this: I cannot hold

The turning wheel, the passing year.

But still my heart, both brave and bold,

Can shape its song despite the fear.

For life will never go as planned,

Its tempests rise, its trials sting.

Yet if I learn with open hand

To dance in each uncertain spring,

Then when the brighter days return,

Their light will shine a thousandfold.

Because my heart has learned to burn

With joy, resilient and bold.

So let the seasons come and go,

Their passage swift, their lessons deep.

I cannot change the world I know,

But I can guard the heart I keep.
