Uptown Yard is a place to socialize and celebrate cultural exploration through food, art, and entertainment, located in downtown Pinole.

Over 25 years ago a historic building in the heart of Pinole collapsed during the Lomas Prieta earthquake and the parcel became abandoned, an eyesore!  

It baffled me why no one around thought of beautifying it or developing it. It just sat for decades!  

When I set my eyes on this tiny little lot in 2019, I fell in love with it and recognized an amazing potential and decided to turn it into something special. So, I developed a plan to create a beautiful outdoor space where micro businesses, artists, and community come together to creatively share it. 

It has been challenging to develop Uptown Yard . I invested lots of time, labor and my savings to get it approved and operating. I have yet to see a monetary return or profit, but I know this will take time, maybe years. 

It is truly is a labor of love! It brings me joy to meet and bring talented artists and food creators to Uptown Yard. Special things in life feel better when you share them, and when you can tell the world how fabulous they are!  

Ever had a meal that was soo unbelievably delicious, you just have to tell someone?! Well, that is how I feel when I am at Uptown Yard and I encounter a new food pop up vendor or when I see amazing work from local artists.

Uptown yard was developed simply from "grass roots". without the assistance of any major institution, government, or corporation.
