Introducing: The Lucidia Project - September Issue

Sep 21, 2023

Where can we find you right now and what are you up to?

We are from the Fargo-Moorhead metro area, which is on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota. We are currently promoting our newest EP, and working on new music!

Tell us a bit about your influences.

We are influenced by various artists, but some genres that influenced us the most are Doom metal, Gothic metal, Alternative metal and rock, as well as some industrial music and artists such as Tori Amos and Natalie Merchant.

How did you start?

We started when Chase and Ben met at a coffee shop discussing music. Chase met Ben on an online website called Bandmix.com, pitched the idea of this band to him, and we have been working together ever since.

What obstacles does an emerging artist have to face in our time?

Probably a mixture of finances and lack of knowledge for how this industry works, especially for an unsigned group or artist with no connections.

What worked for you marketing-wise? What advice or tips would you give to new artists?

Being honest with our image, and our sound, and creating ads that represent that. We are still very new ourselves so we really aren't at a place where we feel like we've "nailed it" when it comes to self-promotion but what we are doing seems to be working.

What are your goals? Where do you see yourself in five years?

We'd like to make beautiful, brutal, heavy, and emotionally honest music, and have people relate and connect with it. We eventually want to start playing more live shows. In 5 years we see ourselves having our first full length album released.

Tell us about your latest or upcoming release.

Our current release "The Requiem EP" came out on september 1st, and it expands our sound to include more symphonic and death metal. We feel like it's a step forward, and closer to what we are aiming for sound wise.
