Where can we find you right now and what are you up to?
Badhoven is an Austrian melodic-hardrock-band from Graz which is also the hometown of the famous actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Live you will see us mainly within or around Austria. But there are also coming in festival invitations from countries like India we are checking out for 2025. 2024 we are releasing our new album followed by live-shows in Germany and Austria. Tell us a bit about your influences.
Our influences go a very long time back to bands like Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Queen, Toto, Van Halen, Extreme, Def Leppard, Sting, Peter Gabriel, The Who, Supertramp, Marcus Miller, Europe and Bon Jovi.
How did you start?
We started in 1996. The former band name was Black Rose. Our first album was also called Black Rose. And we release it on a radio live show with an audience on Austrias biggest broadcast channel ORF. This album was also released in Japan in 1997.
What obstacles does an emerging artist have to face in our time?
Music has lost its worth because everyone wants to get music for free! You have to take money in the hand to make new albums and videos to present them on every relevant internet platform. And you need to be present – anytime, anyhow – to be with the right song at the right time on the right place.
What worked for you marketing-wise? What advice or tips would you give to new artists?
We are selling our albums and merchandise articles mostly at our live shows. But times are changing. We are selling CDs - but less than in the 2000s. Advice or tips: In the end you have to follow your heart!

What are your goals? Where do you see yourself in five years?
Our goals are to release new songs and new albums, and to keep the fun we are still having in making and performing our music. In five years? Maybe to play shows all over Europe.
Tell us about your latest or upcoming project.
Badhoven has been recording albums since 1996. So it is more than time to release our first best-of-album next year (March 2024)! It will be a mixture of our best studio and live songs. And also some unreleased material – just be curious – find it out soon!
