Any fears among home supporters that high flying Leeds Tykes might either succumb to complacency or be saving themselves for a stronger opposition next week were quickly laid to rest as they put points on the board with virtually their first attack of the game.
And so it continued, as visitors Lymm seemed powerless in their attempts to stem the onslaught. Before too long the home side were thirty points up and the half century came not too long after. Tries came on either wing and up the centre, with both backs and forwards contributing.
Although beaten, Lymm’s spirits were not broken, and as the second half progressed they began to put a few moves together. This was rewarded with one try and then two more, a total of 17 points before the final whistle blew.
The afternoon belonged to the Tykes though. As the pictures show, their attack was relentless - a great team display. Well done to all. They’ll be hoping they’ve saved a few points for next week, as they travel to second placed Rotherham.
