we were never really over

we were never really over

A love that never becomes yours, but never leaves you either.

People think love ends when two people stop talking.

Or when someone chooses someone else.

Or when the distance becomes too heavy to carry.

But some connections don’t end.

They don’t dissolve.

They don’t fade.

They just… shift.

They move from presence to memory, from the body to the chest, from everyday conversations to silent echoes that never stop following you.

There are loves that don’t disappear — they just stop being possible.

And that’s what “bound” really means.

Not chosen.

Not claimed.

Not promised a future.

Just tied in ways you can’t unfeel.

You can let go of the person, but not the gravity.

Not the emotional imprint.

Not the part of you they awakened that no one else ever touched the same way.

Some people become woven into your internal world so deeply that even when they’re gone… you still feel the pull of something that should’ve been yours but never was.

That’s the ache I live with.

The ache of being tied, but not held.

Connected, but not with you.

Loved, but not chosen.

Maybe we weren’t meant for a lifetime.

But we were meant for impact.

For transformation.

For change.

For the kind of connection that doesn’t fade even when the relationship does.

And maybe that’s the quiet tragedy of us:

We were never really over.

We were just never allowed to begin.
