After a couple of months of late nights, howlongagogo.com is back — completely rebuilt from the ground up.
I won’t pretend it was smooth sailing. The moment the new version went live on Feb 9th, emails started to slowly come in. About 10 of them, spotting bugs and rough edges I’d missed. Honestly? I’m glad they did. Every single one got fixed, and the site is better for it. But plenty of positive vibes as well!
One thing the feedback made clear was that loyal users had real affection for parts of the old design. So I went back and wove some of those familiar elements back in. It felt important — this site has been around long enough that people have a relationship with it, and that’s not something to throw away in pursuit of something shiny and new.
So what actually changed?
A full rebuild under the hood. The whole thing is running on a modern Laravel stack now — faster, more stable, and much easier to improve going forward.
A new design — cleaner, faster to load, and properly optimised for mobile. Whether you’re settling a debate on your phone or checking a date on your laptop, it should feel noticeably better.
A lot more stats. Individual pages now have much richer information — more context, more depth, more of the stuff that makes a date actually interesting rather than just a number.
Brand new calculators. Add/subtract any amount of days/months/years from any date, anniversary tracker, age calculator (yes really 🙈), business day calculator and more. Try them here:
