Welcome to the digital trailhead!

I started "Howe's The Hike" back in 2016 with my twin daughters to document our backpacking trips. As our mileage increased, so did the scope of our videos. These days, with the girls busy at university, I'm usually hauling the heavy pack myself - or dragging a few resilient trail pals along for the ride.

My mission is to show the backcountry, exactly as it is. That commitment to unfiltered trail reality led to my induction as a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society in November 2023. Being the first YouTube creator to receive this honour has only fuelled my drive to showcase the most remote, high-consequence routes in Canada, the US, and beyond.

But filming these places isn't enough; we have to protect them. In 2024, I became a founding Board Member of the Canadian Backcountry Trails Preservation Society. Our non-profit is fiercely committed to restoring and preserving access to the deep wilderness of our mountain National Parks for future generations.
