I used to wonder…how do people have money to travel all over the world when I saved day and night and I couldn’t even take one single day off? I would look at my children and think, “Will I ever take them anywhere in the world?” I felt bad…I truly did and I wondered what I was doing wrong.
And then I discovered the reason for it.
I was waiting…to have time, to have money, to have moments, to have a chance. The secret was to just “create” it and GO. It doesn’t have to be grand or big or out of the country. It just has to be somewhere you’ve never been to before. It can be an hour drive or a two hour flight…wherever it is in the world, as long as you make it a vacation…it becomes one.
The idea is that we are together…as one, creating lasting memories as we discover new areas in the world to love and wonder about. It’s incredible how that becomes so beautiful in the lives of those we love and it’s not even a five star hotel or restaurant we’re at…it’s a fast food joint and yet it’s perfect. Sometimes we have to make it work with what we have and appreciate what is with us.
Once I discovered this, I had a lot of “travelling” photos with my children. We went everywhere we could on weekends and it wasn’t even stay away from home types. It was drive there and come back but it was a huge success because we saw something so incredibly beautiful that made us appreciate our time together.
