Blooming Days

Blooming Days

Feb 23, 2024

Inside of our hearts is a place we have closed up for a while…it’s called trauma and it happens more often than we expect it to. No matter when it began or who it came from, we carry this part with us. When we look in the faces among the crowd, we hope that we will find someone to gift us an escape from it. For just one moment…one afternoon….one second, if we could just feel good again, we will know how to embrace life and live the way we want to.

Trauma happens in so many ways and it affects us in so many different parts of our life. The soul becomes so entwined with our pain that sometimes it completely forces us to become two different people. And depending on who we talk to, they may get a different version of us. One who smiles genuinely and another who forces one, but both look exactly the same.

When we are at a crossroads with our hearts and we turn back to see our journey, we see the deep footprints left behind from our pain. The harder we had to bear hurt, the deeper our foot set into the earth. Too much burden was for us to carry so we ended up carrying the entire world just because we thought we had to. There was little room to grow and no space for us to even heal properly. Each set of footprints left behind had scars that bled into the earth, burying its secrets into the soil, hoping one day it will turn into a seed and grow. But our hands never watered and our smiles never shine. It will serve only as a reminder of how painful and lonely it has been for us.

To see blossom, we first must accept that we are not ok and that we need time and help to move us forward. No one is perfect and no one can become an ideal model for everyone. Even the greatest at one point had a breakdown and it was that one moment of weakness that it taught them how to live…how to inspire you. Turn to see the burden you have collected over the years and declutter them out of your life. Set free the things you shouldn’t hold onto and keep only what is going to help you find tomorrow.
