We have a new video about the amazing Rabbi Menachem Froman! I was totally blown away when he told us this story, in his Tekoa livingroom 14 years ago. I had never heard a personal story like this before - involving an act of horrible terrorism affecting a family member, and then an unbelievable outcome that came directly out of the act of deadly violence.
Our video interview with Froman about this, involves the holocaust, early Israeli history, and of course, Hamas. Froman had many interactions with Hamas leaders, which we will soon have several new video posts about.

And...as far as photo collage on top: you may know that after Rav Froman helped get Sheikh Ahmed Yassin released from Israeli prison, Yassin invited Froman to appear on a Hamas stage in Gaza City - of course Froman accepted (photo bottom right, Oct. 1997). While he was there, he didn't miss the chance to pray publicly, for all to see on the Gazan street, in front of a hanging tapestry of that Golden Dome :)
Finally, you may not know that in 2005, Froman returned to Gaza - this time to protest the gerush, the forced eviction of Israelis living in Gush Katif, there in Gaza. In the photo on top right, he is rescuing a Torah in a synagogue there, about to be destroyed by Israeli solders. Simple, right? - he believed that "no one should be kicked out of their homes".
How can we learn from Rav Froman's spirit in this terribly tough time, in the war between Israel and Hamas? Can we possibly imagine building bridges in any way with our enemies? Never to forget, Froman quoted Nachman of Breslov's phrase several times, "Ezut d'kedusha" (English, "Holy chutzpah") - anyone want to take his workshop in that.
And lastly, in the video above (viewable by supporters and members only) Froman tells his unbelievable family story, that adds some depth to what may have been stirring in Froman's soul regarding his "enemies".
