About History of Katana
History docs about katana, samurai, swordsmithing and samurai cinema!
Hi! We’re Kei and Matt from History of Katana.
We’re two friends obsessed with samurai history, sword craftsmanship, and uncovering the real stories behind Japan’s most iconic blades.
If you’re here, you probably know us from our YouTube deep dives into famous swords, legendary swordsmiths, and the moments in history where these blades changed everything. Maybe you found us through one of our “dangerous katana” episodes or just love learning how history, metallurgy, and storytelling come together.
Either way, we’re grateful you’re here — and your support helps us keep researching, filming, and bringing these stories to life. 🗡️
