Hi, I’m Hiko. I work in online education and, in my spare time, I build small web tools and experimental websites for fun.

Recently I’ve shipped two projects:

SafetyPDF – a local-first PDF compression tool where every compression run stays inside your browser. It uses a WebAssembly engine, never uploads your documents to a server, and is already used by hundreds of people.

Issyk-Kul Institute for Applied Complexity – a fictional research institute website I designed and coded as a world-building and design experiment. It looks like a real institute, but it’s an art/learning project about complexity science and systems thinking.
