I created The Social Academic blog, podcast, and YouTube channel to help faculty, researchers, and graduate students have an online presence meaningful for their lives. As an academic, you might show up online in places like your faculty profile, academic website or webpage, social media, media quotes and mentions, videos, award announcements, publications, instances of your bio appearing online (such as conference and event programs). Where do you start? How can you avoid wasting your time?
