Acerca de (What's The Story) Goals and Glory?
Following the 1980s Hibs book 'Bestie to Beastie to Belgium', author Colin Leslie brings you Part 1 of the sequel from the 1990s: (What's the Story) Goals and Glory? Parts 2 and 3 will follow later in the season.
The three digital PDFs will all be free to download, but - if you are able - please consider the option to make a small donation to the project, which will culminate in the complete printed book towards the end of the 2026-27 season, which will be available for readers to buy.
With a foreword from Gordon Hunter - who spent 14 years of his career at Hibs - the book will take you on a juddering journey through a tumultuous decade for the famous Easter Road club.
With interviews from the players and figures who were there, it relives a rollercoaster period: from the Hands off Hibs battle against Wallace Mercer's predatory efforts to wipe out the club, and then on to a glorious resurgence at Hampden as the 'Team That Wouldn't Die' lifted the League Cup in 1991.
The 1990s would have many more twists and turns, culminating in another relegation in 1998 then a triumphant return a year later as mercurial talents like Franck 'Le God' Sauzee and Russell Latapy led the way and ensured Hibs swaggered their way into the new Millennium.
